Benjamin Reitmeier grew up in New Denver, British Columbia—a small lakeside town that fostered an early sense of community and stillness. When the time came to pursue a career, Benjamin moved away to study Architectural Drafting. That period proved formative, teaching the language of scale, the logic of how things fit together, and inspiring a deep appreciation for the technical precision required to bring a vision to life.
Life, however, rarely moves in a straight line. Benjamin took a sharp turn into the high-pressure world of Culinary Arts, trading drafting tools for the heat and creative chaos of the kitchen. That chapter taught him to trust his instincts and revealed that creation is as much about the process and the momentum of the moment as it is about the final result. During this time of professional transition, Benjamin met his partner—a connection that eventually prompted a move to the coast and a fresh start in Vancouver.
Arriving in Vancouver was an unexpected revelation. There is a rare kind of magic in being a total stranger in a big city. Back home, people knew Benjamin long before any introduction, but in Vancouver, he encountered true anonymity—a blank slate.
That anonymity became a powerful creative tool. Free from the weight of expectations or a “past self” to answer to, Benjamin found the space to experiment and reimagine. This freedom ultimately led to Fashion Design, where he realized that clothing isn’t merely about fabric—it’s about the architecture of identity. In a city where no one knew his name, Benjamin finally had the space to design exactly who he wanted to be.
